day 10: happy birthday big guy!

Today, we celebrated my nephew Logan's first birthday. He was born on December 28, but because it was so close to Christmas we decided to celebrate this weekend.

It's hard to believe that this little 5lb baby grew into such a huge and healthy little boy.

In a few weeks L. will be a big brother! My sister is pregnant and due in about 2 weeks with another little boy.

day 9: playhouse disney live

We love Playhouse Disney in this house. Jake's favourite channel is 549 and it's constantly on. So when I saw that they were coming to the center in the square, I had my mom buy tickets for him for Christmas. He enjoyed it, not nearly as excited as I thought he would be but we had fun. I think I would spend the money again just because I liked it so much.

day 8: a quickie

Day 7: Bar night, Smar night

So why is it that every time I have an evening that is kid free that I always end up changing my plans 3 or 4 times? Nothing ever works out on kidfree nights...ever. But I make the best of what I'm given.

Tonight, I was supposed to hang out with my BFF. We had made plans to go to Symposium for dessert and then I was going to come home and organize my room.....well we went for dessert and she managed to talk me into going to the bar with her for a little bit. I was DD so we were just going to say hi to a few people and had agreed to leave at midnight.

Well we got to the bar, and the line was outrageous! It was at least an hour wait and that does not = fun when you're wearing stilettos. So we decided to go to a different bar where her brother could get us in and avoid the line.....well he's had no plans to go there before 11:30 so we nixed that idea pretty quickly. So on the drive home, we decided to go to McPukes....in our bar clothes.

Two chicks in Mcdonalds at 11:00pm...one in a dress and the other in stilettos. We got a few funny looks thats for sure. But we had a good time and thats all that really matters.

On the way home we realized that it was this exact night last year that we tried to go to the same bar....well we did actually go. But we waited in line for 45 minutes and I had frozen toes...it was an awful experience so I'm glad we managed to avoid it this year.

Day 6: Whoa...its Wednesday already?

Okay, so Wedneday was supposed to be Wishlist Wednesday...but I really don't like that idea anymore...so we're going to nix it.

I really don't have any idea of what to write about today, we were stranded at home until I realized that the car was in the driveway and then we went grocery shopping with some friends. A pretty boring day.

Heres the one and only picture from today, I just snapped it (in the dark...and he's on the top bunk so I know it's an awful one) Poor kiddo is adjusting to no naps and he's been exhausted the last few days. I'm hoping he goes back to having a short one when he's back to daycare next week.

Tomorrow, I promise something of substance.

Day 5: Babywearing = Love

Day 4: Brrr!

When I woke up this morning, the plan was to take Jake out for the day to do something fun. I wanted to take him to Chuck E Cheese for lunch (he loves it, I've never been) but with my moms birthday being yesterday, I need a new sticker for my car before I can go anywhere. So I had to come up with a plan B.

It's still freezing outside, but I figured we could brave it for a little while to get out of the house. We went tobogganing at the park near our house and then played in the slides for a bit.
